To insinuate otherwise is just stupid gatekeeping. I'm sure there are tons of car people out there who think the DB11 is awesome. Yes those cars are expensive, and maybe desirable to someone who isn't interested in cars and only sees them as a status symbol. If you applied your logic here to that game, you'd be drawing the exact same conclusion about the game you were just praising. So you think that because this trailer designed for general audiences uses expensive modern vehicles instead of niche classics, it's confirmation that the whole game will place new performance cars on a pedestal and lose the heart of the original? And it's not just because shiny and new will attract more attention for sales? Have you thought about how the cover for the original TDU featured a Ford GT and a Gallardo? Both new performance cars at the time, in a similar bracket to the DB11. It looks like this is just set to be another forgettable open world driving game. I'm really into my sim racing, but TDU offered something different and you really didn't care that the driving was best described as. The car list for TDU should basically be the past 10 years of Pebble Beach and Barret Jackson show winners/top auction prices with some 'standard' supercar fare sprinkled in. Firstly, why on earth would anyone be racing these two head to head? Secondly, in what world are either of these cars truly desirable? So in this trailer we have a Range Rover SVR and a DB11. If you saw a GT500 out on a cruise, you knew that it was because someone appreciated the car. TDU was a game were a 60s Shelby GT500 cost a LOT for the performance and iirc was locked behind a quest. TDU filled a niche because it was about car quantity, it wasn't about having the fastest car. I adored TDU and I've said it a few times on here. Well, I expect nothing and yet I'm still disappointed.
